Im Jahr 2015 entstand die Idee der gläsernen Bierzapfsäule. Genauer gesagt war das Taptube System ein glückliches „Nebenprodukt“ bei der Entwicklung einer gläsernen Bierbrauanlage, deren Umsetzung auf der Idee von Gerhard Hochmuth und Bernd Weinmayer, unter achmännischer Beratung von Braumeister Robert Prinz, beruht. Ziel war Borosilikatglas mit seinen genialen chemischen und physikalischen Eigenschaften auch außerhalb vom etablierten Laboreinsatz verstärkt zum Einsatz zu bringen. Die gute mechanische Beständigkeit und die nahezu uneingeschränkte Verformbarkeit von flüssigem Glas bei 1600°C erlauben endlose Designvariationen. Das sterile, kristallklare Borosilikatglas erfüllt noch nie dagewesene Hygienestandards dank aximaler Transparenz.
Bier, mit seinen unzähligen Bernstein-Farbtönen, als Lichtleiter zu verwenden, war jedoch für mich als Lichtdesigner der Hauptansporn für dieses Projekt. Das indirekt, mit LED-Weißlicht, bestrahlten Getränk, durchfließt eine ca. 10m lange Glasspirale, die mittels Wassers individuell gekühlt werden kann und somit keine weitere Fasskühlung benötigt.
Nach zahlreichen Prototypen, Bruchtests, patentrechtlicher Absicherung, sorgsamer Auswahl von Zulieferfirmen aus der Region und Aufbau eines verlässlichen Vertriebspartnernetzes konnte 2018 mit der Kleinserienfertigung der Taptube L begonnen werden. Ergänzt wurde das Taptube Programm durch zwei gläserne Zapfgrifftypen mit einer immer größer werdenden Zahl von eingegossenen, natürlichen Zutaten. Diese basieren auf ein genormtes Gewindeformat und erzaubern auch herkömmliche Zapfsysteme mit einem individuellen Erscheinungsbild.
2020 wurde die Taptube Familie mit der etwas kleineren Taptube S und der doppelläufigen Taptube Twin erweitert. Detailliertere Informationen über das Taptube System inklusive aller technischen Datenblätter finden Sie unter:
